“Heal the Past, Dream the Future, Live the Present.” – Unknown
At Emergent Studies Institute we are fully committed to the idea that building a community begins from within, and as we grow and heal we are then better able to become more fully connected to the larger global community.
Our Holistic Healing Department considers the whole person — body, mind, spirit, and emotion — in the quest for optimal health and wellness. We believe strongly in engaging individuals in their own healing process by offering courses that challenge, as well as nurture, each individual’s spiritual journey in a unique way.
The New Age Movement of the 50’s and 60’s must be credited in firmly rooting and influencing the holistic community, by allowing current practitioners of physical and emotional modalities to move beyond controversial issues surrounding the whole-person-centered approach of healing. In this way our Holistic Healing department and faculty bring this type of forward movement and thought to each course. Our heart-centered faculty teach what excites them, what makes them want to share their knowledge with their students and the world.
Our courses are ever evolving based on the needs of our students and what our faculty are passionate about teaching. This may include a broad range of body/mind/spirit healing practices, which may include but are not limited to:
- Shamanic Healing
- Meditation for Self-Healing
- Energy Healing
Whether taken as a single enrichment course or as part of a certificate program, our courses strive to ask deeply profound questions, push boundaries of understanding, and facilitate growth by going within. It is our philosophy that we each have the power to effect positive change out in the world. Healers and those seeking to heal themselves will be the leaders to shine a light on the path towards global healing so others may follow. It is our goal to create and hold this sacred space so leaders can emerge.
Individuals interested in working toward their Certificate in Holistic Healing will engage in innovative online courses which will include various kinds of mind/body exercises, and a daily spiritual practice.
We believe that spiritual practices and/or expressions solidify our connection daily with the divine. Actively engaging our body/mind/spirit in healing practices such as walks in nature, meditation, artistic expression, act of kindness, and music can be an important spiritual anchor. This spiritual foundation then becomes crucial as our students take what they have learned to go out into the world to be an active part of positive change.
