Only a short while ago it would have been challenging to find a school or institution where one could combine education and personal self-development, much less do so and find like-minded travelers. Graduate schools like Naropa, the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, and California Institute of Integral Studies were among the few places that existed, and they were known to very few. Less academic and more avocational institutes also sprang up– the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) in Marin County and Omega in upstate New York.
Then, during the 1980s and 1990s, there was an explosion, a type of spiritual self-revolution. We became green; we thought about what we were actually doing to ourselves and our planet. We– few in number but growing– chose to awaken to our responsibility to each other and our world. Connected through digital pathways, smartphones, tablets, and social networks we began to really talk to each other, to empower each other, to encourage others to awaken as well. Together, we are building upon that growth spurt till another more powerful explosion catapults even more souls into connection, education, empowerment, and enlightenment.
After this first global self-revolution, we began to seek connection, to see what was out there. Now through a quick web search one can find credible Yoga teachers, Reiki masters, transpersonal psychologists, and institutes offering world-changing programs in sustainability, self-development, and spiritual empowerment. There are many choices available now, and we may not be the right one for you… but what if we were?
First, it needs to be clearly understood that even though many of our teachers have advanced graduate degrees and our curriculum is based on graduate level work, we are currently not an accredited institute. If you are seeking a college or university that can give you a degree, this is NOT the right place for you at this time.
Our mission is to provide our students, clients, communities, and world with quality training in life-sustaining practices– to bring the wisdom of the past into the present and forge new interdisciplinary connections between modern technology and global research.
Our training and research programs focus primarily on Spirituality, Healing, Parapsychology, Global Sustainability, Urban Permaculture, Community Partnerships, Community Service (In-Touch Programs), and Indigenous Studies.
All of our programs include single courses, certifications programs, intensives, webinars, and seminars combining theory and hands-on practice in specific areas of investigation. Unless otherwise noted, all programs and classes are taught online using Google Classroom.
On-the-ground intensives and seminars will be held at specific locations in the U.S. and live-streamed whenever possible. Popular locations include Austin, the California Bay Area, Sedona, Asheville, and Santa Fe.
Our online student experience is multi-sensory. We strive to bring students, teachers, and community together through voice, video, and written word. Instructors of all online programs and courses arrange times to connect via video and voice — students may connect on a daily basis through writing and Google Classroom classroom chat. Google Classroom and multiple social media integrations allow students and members of the greater community to fully engage with one another.
All of our On-the-Ground Intensives and Seminars are held in powerful, beautiful locations. Students and teachers enjoy interactive classes, sharing meals, and scheduled one-on-one sessions. Nature walks, drumming, swimming (when pools are available), as well as shopping trips to quaint nearby towns and villages are just some of the activities available. We also encourage students to take quiet time for meditation, integration, and personal spiritual practice.
