EMERGENT STUDIES

Summer forest pathway in plitvice national park-Croatia

“As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind.

To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again.

To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives.”

– Henry David Thoreau

This transdisciplinary department stands on the foundation of the phenomenal work done by the schools of human development before us– whether it be Holotropic Breathwork, Transpersonal Pathways, Martial Arts, Therapeutic Bodywork, or Contemplative Studies– and takes the evolution to the next level by embracing the concept of emergence. Students in this certificate program will apply these concepts to their personal transformational healing or in healing and therapeutic practices for others.

This department resides at the center of the transdisciplinary school of thought by bringing historically strong disciplines together to create an altogether new way of thinking and being in the world. In addition, we rely heavily on Emergent Education which requires the contribution of all participants to create a new and exciting outcome for every course, every time.  Courses in this department, with a focus on the strengths of faculty and students, will inspire creative modalities, collaborative projects, and collective approaches to world change.
